Tribute to Pastor Norrill Gumbs

Child Evangelism Fellowship of Anguilla mourns along with his dear family the passing of Pastor Norrill Gumbs, the founding Pastor of First Baptist Church of Welches.

He was truly a Brother, friend, partner and avid supporter of CEF almost from its onset.
He was a firm believer in ministering to the children of Anguilla and so personally supported the ministry before through his great encouragement. His church adapted CEF under its Missions support program many years ago and has been very faithful in its commitment.

Pr Gumbs encouraged many of his members to be trained including two young members whom he supported to attend CYIA training in neighboring St. Kitts and Nevis 8 years ago.
Several adult believers from his church were TCE level 1 and TCE level 2 trained to teach children effectively and several also did Teaching Little kids; hence growing the army of child evangelists on Anguilla.

Pastor Gumbs himself participated in a tremendous way by being the featured voice and thoughts in the first National CEF video . It was used in a CEF global meeting in 2014 and has been used a lot by CEF international and locally ever since .

His was the first pre-school ( First Baptist Pre-school) at which pre-school Good News Club Ministry began. That ministry still continues today. Pastor Gumbs took great pleasure driving his wife Eunice to help teach at Pre-school Good News Club; other Good News and Seasonal Party Clubs as well as to attend CEF Board Meetings and he himself looked forward to attending Regional Day of Prayer at the Office and attending in the background weekly Powered by Prayer morning meetings.

His stalwart presence and participation will be greatly missed by all involved in CEF. We thank our God for all remembrance of him. Philippians 1 :3
